Who it's for

Men coming from treatment, ready to do the work.

Residents come directly from inpatient (residential) drug and alcohol treatment, committed to sobriety, and willing to participate in the program. Suboxone and Vivitrol are supported through our clinical partnership with Allegheny Health Network; methadone is not supported within the residence.

Vera's Place does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

What it costs

$655 a month. Nothing else.

Rent is $655 per month per bed, due on the 1st. There is no application fee, no security deposit, and no program fee. Drug screenings are at no charge. Paid by money order, bank transfer, Zelle, or certified check.

If money will be a problem, tell staff before a payment is missed; a written payment plan is available.

The structure

What a week looks like.

  • Every day

One AA/NA or approved recovery meeting. Chores. Home by the 8 PM curfew.

  • Three days a week or more

Outpatient treatment, on a schedule your work has to fit around, not the other way round.

  • Every week

The house meeting: announcements, concerns, and recognition of recovery wins. Attendance is required.

  • Your first 72 hours

Settling in. No job searching yet. Then part-time work, then full-time once you've shown stability, with schedules approved by staff.

  • Money

Save 20% of every paycheck toward your own place. Report income honestly.

  • Recovery Points

Earn points for meetings, outpatient, chores, work progress, and milestones. Redeem them for privileges and recognition.
